Thank You Mr. Piper

March 20th, 2008

John Piper,

I want to thank you and God for your passion for Jesus. You have nothing to envy; you give away your money, you adopt children when you could retire in Palm Springs, you don’t buy the coolest clothes, you’re not young, you don’t even own a tv.

But—Christ’s glory radiates out of your life with more intensity than I’ve ever seen. When I saw you speak at Text and Context, I knew how big our God is.

Thank You John Piper.

I think we will know in a few decades (hopefully less) just how great an impact John Piper has had on the world for Christ. Personally, for me there is no single preacher who has done more to get me to see and love God’s greatness in all that He does and all that He is. In my mind, at least, I think him to be a contemporary D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones. Thank God for John Piper!

    Thank you for this post!

I’ve heard that message before but not with that motion graphic. Very nice.

Piper’s impact will be right up there with the great theologians in history. No doubt about it.

The Gospel of Greed is no gospel of Jesus Christ. You don’t have to go to Africa to see the devastation it has wrought.
