Not Art. Submission 3.
July 7th, 2008
Corey has been having all of the fun thus far, so I figured it was time for me to get in on the action. Here is the third submission for the Not Art. Gospel. series. This piece focuses on Matthew 6:19-21 and is titled “Moth & Rust.” When you match the art up to the message, how does it make you feel? What do you think?
Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19-21

When I first saw this art what came to my mind was beauty. To me it has a strange beauty to it, and that really says something. I find beauty and pleasure in the things that will not last.
I love your stuff. Incredible.
Awesome!
When I opened your blog this morning I was certain I knew the designer and our hearts were connected. My eyes were drawn to the beautiful color of what I thought was a butterfly, a symbol that is a reminder to pray for a dear friend with cancer. After reading the blog and then the scripture I thought to myself… so often I allow the rust to invade my life and hide the beautiful color the Lord has for me and wants others to see in me. What a great reminder of how like moths & rust, the enemy can destroy God’s beauty, if we allow him to cloud our hearts and minds. Thank you Corey and Kyle for your refreshing blog. And yes, I am proud to say I am Kyle’s mom.
wow. I mean wow. and you don’t even see the george washington until you look deep. How do we get copies of these? Seriously! Wow.
Is there one singular location on the site for high-rez PDFs of these posters? I’d like to start putting them up in our Youth Room. Email if you need to …
Next week we will post the fifth poster. That will complete 1/4 of the series. I will post all the art and have a link to download a high-res jpeg of each. Let me know how the kids and parents take them.
