Art Talks

July 30th, 2008

A friend of mine sent me this video yesterday. It’s a trailer for a documentary film about Roadsworth, a Canadian street artist. His art is amazingly genius, but what I found even more interesting was how his art has catalyzed a larger conversation in the city of Montréal. Call it graffit, or call it art, Roadsworth has caused dialogue, and we’re all about that here at The Plow. Enjoy!

Wow, that’s really neat. I feel like getting some spray cans and doing some designs. In high school I did a few art projects like this and it was fun and I thought quite beautiful.

I even spray painted a self portrait on my parent’s drive-way. Mom wasn’t too pleased about it and it lasted a couple of years. It was about 2×2 feet so it wasn’t super small either. :)

I like that work and I think it’s complementing the way a city looks as opposed to just trying to destroy property the way some folks tag their name. Who cares who you are. Make your art contribute something of worth. I think he’s doing that.
