Jay Baker Supermodel

I just got the new Wired magazine and found this ad 13 pages into it. Now I don’t know too much about Jay Baker, I have seen part of One Punk Under God, and what I saw I liked. But what I love about this ad is that the bible is being shown, and it is really the focus of the ad. I love that the ad is for Kenneth Cole, a clothing company, but the question that’s raised is, why is this guy holding a bible. If we have a opportunity to do something big, lets point to God when doing it.

I’ve read a couple interviews with Jay and been disappointed every time. His heart is in the right place and I love what he’s trying to do, but he preaches a compromised gospel and I can’t get behind that no matter how “cool” he thinks he makes God.
I agree that when we get to do something big, we should use that opportunity to point to God. We also, however, need to make sure that our day-to-day lives point to God or the “something big” will only become a big stumbling block.
I’ll confess, I had heard of Jay Baker, but never actually digested anything that he had presented. I listened to one of his podcasts the other day and though I have no way to make any judgments on his actual ministry quite yet, I would say he needs to continue to refine his convictions in his preaching.
How did you forget to mention that your sister and brother-in-law have a little cameo in One Punk Under God. We are famous now. Ok… not really….
